The entire Onwu family of Umuakagu Nsu, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria has, with gratitude to God, announced the transition to glory of their dearly beloved Patriarch, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and cousin, Chief Hon (Sir) Lawrence .I. Onwu KSM, AMbP, JP.
The passage of the highly revered community and religious leader, who lived an accomplished life of selfless service to God and man, took place on Friday, October 4, 2024, at the age of 94.
A statement signed by Chief Dan Onwu, for the family, said that Chief Hon. (Sir) Law I. Onwu was a fulfilled man in all ramifications. It noted that the departed Patriarch was an astute father, a reputable businessman as well as a distinguished Community and Religious leader who inspired a lot of people through a process of meticulous mentorship, and by his own exemplary life of undiluted courage.
While praying for the peaceful repose of the icon’s soul and urging prayers for the family, the statement pointed out that further details regarding the Rites of Passage of the legend, who is being mourned by many across the world, will be communicated as soon as they are finalised.
