The National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG), has assured Lagosian that there would be free traffic flow as more depots are now loading petroleum products in the city.

South-West Chairman of NUPENG, Mr Tokunbo Korodo, said in Lagos, Tuesday that more petroleum tankers came down from the northern parts because loading had increased in depots.

“We have more depots loading the products now in Lagos which include the five major marketers and I can assure you that by weekend the queue of petroleum tankers will be over. We appeal to Lagosians to exercise patience because the tankers will be going back to their different locations by this evening.

“With the improve loading in the depots, there is hope that the scarcity of petroleum will gradually fade out by weekend,” he said.

Due to the petrol scarcity and the shortage of the product at loading depots, petroleum tankers had taken over most roads leading to Apapa from Mile 2 down to Coconut to Tin-Can Island.

At the Apapa depot, NNPC is currently making use of Nipco Oil and Gas Tank farm, Folawiyo Tank Farm, Integrated Oil and Gas Tank Farm, Ibeto Oil and Gas Tank farm and Capital Oil and Gas Tank farm to distribute petroleum products.
