When family, friends bid late Dr. Joseph Laoye farewell; Pastors Tunde Bakare, Toyin Laoye, others present, pay glowing tributes
Family, friends and associates of late Dr. Joseph Adesola Adegboyega Laoye, on Saturday, March 5, 2022, bid the departed Patriarch of the Family a tearful final farewell as he was laid to rest after a fruitful sojourn of 88 years on earth.
Born on March 5, 1933, into the Aleshinloye royal family of Ibadanland, Oyo State Nigeria, Dr. Joseph Laoye, a brilliant scholar, teacher, public health administrator, World Health Organisation (WHO) Consultant and prolific writer, who passed unto glory on January 6, 2022. He left lasting legacies that all who crossed his path will remember for a long time to come.
Widely travelled, the father of many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, who has many illustrious in-laws and other relatives, imprinted his memory in the hearts of many across the world through the love, joy and benevolence that he shared as he journeyed along, and these were eloquently captured in the tributes written and spoken in his honor in the course of the Celebration of his life and times and at his interment.
Among those who wrote glowingly of Dr. Joseph Laoye are his sons-in-law, including Pastor ‘Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer, The Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), Lagos, Dr. Laoye’s children, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives and friends from far and near.
A member of the family, Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, who is the Special Assistant to Continental Overseer, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), The Americas, also wrote passionately about the late Dr. Joseph Laoye, who dedicated much of his life to the service of God and mankind.
Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, who is also the Provincial Pastor & Senior Pastor, RCCG, Dominion Cathedral, Orange, New Jersey, United States of America (USA), also shared the Word of God at the Funeral Service for the departed Patriarch of the Laoye family.
