La Veronica Magazine’s Pink Awards for 2021 cancelled in honor of Yinka Odumakin

The Pink Awards, presented by La Veronica Magazine, will not hold this year, 2021, in honor of the late Comrade Yinka Odumakin, the husband of a key promoter of the program, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin.

According to the organizers of the Award, Odumakin was a “dogged icon of human rights… who till death was a resounding voice of the voiceless, a big heartache and thorn in the flesh of our political vampires, a fearless and ruthless spokesperson of the Afenifere, a loving husband to our most loving, dogged Woman of courage and PINK Awards promoter – Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin.”

Yinka Odumakin’s shocking demise, the organizers of the Award stressed, led them to the inevitable decision to cancel the program for this year.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PINK Awards International is Pink Lady Veronica Isioma Okei-Somefun, and the organizers of the Award, which is in its eighth year have assured that “plans for the event to hold in 2022 have already been set into motion.”

The event could not hold in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic but the organizers have insisted that it is “still strong and getting stronger.”

They thanked their loving fans and supporters who have stuck with them from the start of their journey, assuring that “we cannot love you any less than we do already,” and urging them to “remember to stay safe and pinky.”

They eulogized and extended “a resounding thank you to our promoter in the person of our own loving Woman of Courage, who is also our timeless most dogged Icon of Democracy, Dr. Joe Okei-Odumakin who is usually going out of her entire comfort zone to make sure that our PINK Awards continues to be successful and a huge force to reckon with.”

They were also full of “immense gratitude” to the past “recipients and awardees for being great influences on society,” and to their media partners, brand supporters, global audience, fans and well wishers.
