Hon. Jibrin suspended by House of Reps over 2016 Budget padding allegations; Banned from holding offices

The House of Representatives has, on Wednesday, suspended its former Chairman, Appropriation Committee, Hon. Abdulmumini Jibrin for180 legislative sitting days and also barred him from holding positions of responsibility in the House till the end of the 8th Assembly.
This action followed the adoption of the report submitted by the Committee on Ethics and Privileges,’ Chairman, Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai.
The Committee looked into the 2016 Budget padding allegations by Hon. Jibrin against the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara and and other principal officers of the House.
The legislator from Kano had refused to appear before the Committee which took his refusal as his defence.
