Ngozi Ebere joins PSG Ladies in France

Super Falcons defender, Ngozi Ebere has signed for Paris Saint Germain Ladies from local side Rivers Angels in the 2015-16 football season; the French club announced on its website on Monday.

The 24-year-old defender has been on the club’s radar before the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada in June. But she completed her 2-year contract without any hassle having impress the club in the previous years.

“I’m here to give my best and to win trophies. I am very motivated by this new challenge which has offered me to be here in Paris. It is a dream that finally comes true,” said Ngozi said after signing her contract.

Meanwhile, the coach of women’s team, Farid Benstiti, welcomed Ebere’s arrival into the team, saying she will complement another defender, Laure Boulleau, which has been touted to be heavy in recent seasons.

“She has a lot of potential and qualities that she has shown during the last World Cup. It will take time to adapt, but her qualities will enable her to be ready fairly quickly”, she said.

Ebere has won the African Women Championship with Nigeria’s Super Eagles in 2014, and the PSG Ladies move is her first professional club outside Nigeria.
