NIDO-New Jersey honors RCCG Dominion Cathedral, Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, others at Flag Raising event today, Thursday

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Dominion Cathedral, Orange, New Jersey and its Senior Pastor, Pastor (Dr.) Toyin Laoye, will be among institutions and individuals to be honored by the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDO) at its Flag Raising ceremony in commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th independence day.
The program, which will be graced by the Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda, the Deputy Mayor, City of Newark, New Jersey, Ligia DeFreitas, and other dignitaries, will hold at the Newark City Hall Rotunda, 920 Broad St., Newark, New Jersey, Thursday, October 24, 2024 from 4pm (EST) and has as theme: ” Unity, Faith, Peace and Progress.”
RCCG Dominion Cathedral, which is the Headquarters of RCCG The Americas 1, Region 15, and Pastor (Dr.) Laoye, who is Assistant Continental Overseer (ACO) and Pastor-in-charge of Region, are receiving the prestigious NIDO-New Jersey Award for Excellent Performance as Grand Ambassador for different impactful services to the community.
According to a notice by Dr. Adeola Popoola, President, NIDO-New Jersey, the Award “specifically recognizes Pastor Toyin Laoye and the Ministerial Team of the Church, for outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of individuals within our community.”
The Organization acknowledged the efforts of the Pastor and the Church in the areas of a free food program, provision of shelter, counselling and prayers, especially for the vulnerable and challenged in the community.
NIDO New Jersey also noted the support of the Church and its Senior Pastor to organizations, professional and social groups, with particular reference to the support rendered, and the release of the Church’s facilities for the hosting of NIDO New Jersey’s Town Hall meetings where the leadership of the Consulate General of Nigeria in New York met with nationals in New Jersey and beyond.
The Flag Raising ceremony, a major annual event of NIDO-New Jersey, will also feature fashion displays, spoken word or Ewi presentations and other side attractions.
