NECO modernizes recruitment process for Exam Supervisors

The National Examinations Council (NECO) of Nigeria has embraced digital innovation by transitioning the recruitment process for Examination Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors. This change affects both the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal and External.

The move towards digitization aims to curb fraudulent activities during recruitment and to enhance overall efficiency and service delivery. Instead of relying on manual methods, NECO will now conduct the recruitment process online.

Under the new system, Supervisor Nomination forms, Appointment Letters, and Supervisor e-Photo Albums will all be generated digitally. Additionally, the process of swapping Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors during examinations will also be facilitated online.

According to a statement released by the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication, Azeez Sani, interested and qualified teachers with various educational backgrounds, including NCE, Degree Certificate, Master Degrees, PhD, and even Professors, are eligible to apply as Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for either BECE or SSCE Internal or External.

This shift towards digitalization marks a significant departure from NECO’s previous manual recruitment system. By embracing technology, NECO aims to streamline its operations and ensure a fair and transparent recruitment process for all involved parties.
