IGP Arase to set up Police/MAN Consultative Forum

The national executive of the umbrella body of manufacturers operating in the country, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) has commended the Nigerian police for removing road-blocks across the country and replacing them with Safer Highway Patrols.
A statement by Acting ACP Kolawole Olabisi, the Force Public Relations Officer, said the association also eulogized the police for ‘the selfless service they render daily to ensure the safety and well-being of Nigerians.’
During a courtesy visit to the office of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Solomon Arase at the Force Headquarters, Monday, the National Executive of MAN led by its president, Dr. Frank Jacob also expressed the hope for a harmonious working relationship with the Force.
Responding, the IGP thanked the management of MAN for their care and support, adding that ‘it is the first time a body like this has really come to appreciate the efforts of the Force.’
He assured the President of MAN that a Police/MAN Consultative Forum will be established to foster the sustainability of the relationship.
The IGP restated the commitment of the Force towards accountability and transparency as, according to him,we ’will not tolerate any act of indiscipline or unprofessional conduct.’
The IGP also availed to the body various channels through which they can make their complaints known to the Force, among which is the recently established Complaint Response Unit.
Highpoint of the visit was the donation by the MAN executive team of some food items as well as reflective jackets for the use of operatives of Safer Highways.
