19 governorship candidates in Gombe drop ambitions for APC’s  Inuwa Yahaya 

19 Governorship candidates from different political parties in Gombe State have dropped from next Saturday’s Governorship election with a call on their supporters to vote for the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Alhaji Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya.
Addressing a press conference, spokesman of the candidates, Ambassador Morondiya Aiye of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) said the decision to support the APC candidate was taken after exhaustive meetings with all the 19 gubernatorial candidates.
He gave the name of the candidates and their parties to include, Abdulhamid Sadiq BNPP, Aishatu Bikimoha ACCORD, Dr Bala Bello DPP, Mohammed Inuwa Musa ACD, Hussaini Yusuf CAP, Isa Lawan MMN, Umar Abdullahi Adamu HDP, Comrade Hashimu Dauda NCMP and Alkali Victor Laima AAP.
Ambassador Morondiya also gave the names and parties of other candidates who dropped from the contest as Tijjani Jungudo NDLP, Usman Isa Adamu DA, Muhammad Adamu ADC, Alhaji Magaji Kwairanga AD as well as candidates of ASD, ADP, ADPA and NAC.
According to him, “We the gubernatorial candidates have unanimously agreed to keep our personal interests aside and put the interest of Gombe state in front, therefore, we have adopted and endorsed the candidature of Inuwa Yahya of the APC for the 9th March 2019 Governorship election in Gombe state”.
Ambassador Morondiya said, “By this endorsement, we call on the entire electorates in Gombe state to cast their precious votes to the APC candidate for us to ensure a collective change of government and we assure you that together, we will be proud of our collective decisions”.
He then urged the people of the state to come out en-masse to exercise their franchise of voting for a candidate of their choice without fear of intimidation by agent of destruction and anti-democrats, assuring that security agencies will continue to protect the lives of the citizens during and after the elections.
