Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto has inaugurated a campaign committee for his re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), naming former Minister of Power, Bello Suleiman as his campaign Committee chairman.

At the occasion held at the N700 million new Sokoto International Conference Centre, Tambuwal told thousands of PDP members and supporters that the party remains the platform for people with focus and resilience.
“Our party is an all-inclusive platform for both young and old, men and women,” he said, stressing that the PDP was daily increasing its popularity and acceptance ahead of the 2019 general elections.
The event brought together all the party stakeholders in state including former Minister of Water Resources, Barrister Muhtari Shehu Shagari.
Another PDP chieftain and former Governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, informed the gathering that the massive support being enjoyed by PDP in the state was a reflection and result of Tambuwal’s commitment towards attaining large followership.
He pledged his support for Tambuwal and his running mate as well as the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar for victory in the 2019 elections.
Speaking earlier, state PDP chairman, Ibrahim Milgoma expressed gladness over the large crowd of the party’s followers that turned up, describing it as a good omen for the success of the party’s candidates in the forthcoming elections.
