Mr. Peter Obi, Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election has pledged to carry the women of Nigeria along when elected President of Nigeria in the coming polls.
He assured the women that he will bring them to the leadership table where decisions concerning the governance of Nigeria are being taken and would ensure that they are allowed to deploy their potentials towards the advancement of the country.
Mr. Obi, who attended a Town Hall meeting with the theme: “Women for a new Nigeria” in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja with his wife, Mrs. Margaret Obi, confirmed this position in a tweet.
He said: “My dear wife and I attended the town hall meeting themed, ‘Women for a new Nigeria’ in FCT, Abuja. I will carry women along, bring them to the leadership table where decisions are being made, and also allow them to utilize their potentials for the betterment of Nigeria. – PO.”
The meeting was well attended by enthusiastic women supporters of the Obi/Datti ticket who are all out to ensure the victory of the Labour Party in the presidential elections in February this year.
Mr. Obi’s tweet, pledging to carry women along in his government has been well received by both men and women who support his position as the way to go in the evolution of the new Nigeria that is envisaged.
