Cartons of fake hand sanitizers worth N350,000 have been seized by the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC),at some super markets and drug retail outlets in Bauchi metropolis.
The Bauchi State Coordinator of the Agency, Mr Mohammed Muazu disclosed this to newsmen in his office saying that the raiding exercise was conducted in Bauchi on the 21st and 22nd of September this year.
According to him ,”The enforcement directorate of the agency directs state offices to monitor outlets after observing the availability of such products in the market”.
The state coordinator revealed that the agency has commenced investigation to trace the manufacturers,saying that the monitoring exercise would be continued.
Out of the 13 brands of the fake sanitizers, he said, 11 were manufactured in Kano state while two were manufactured in Bauchi state.
He stated that any manufacturer found wanting would face the full wrath of the law and that they are doing everything within their powers to make sure they rid the country of fake goods.
