Ambassador Peter Lot Egopija, Consul General

The Nigerian Consulate General in New York, United States of America (US) is suspending in-person processing of all Consular and Immigration services from September 20 to 27, 2021.

To this end, all appointments already made for passport biometric capture from 20th to 27th September 2021 (both dates inclusive) are being rescheduled.

A statement by the Consulate General, Monday, August 16, 2021, which gave notice of the suspension of services, said that “affected passport applicants will be notified of this development through the email addresses and telephone numbers indicated in their applications, with a request for them to choose alternative convenient dates between 19th August and 17th September or other dates from 28th September 2021.”

The notice, which did not give any reason for the brief suspension of services, said however, that “applicants for other services (Emergency Travel Certificate, Police Report, Authentication, etc.) are kindly requested to avail themselves of the mail-in options as indicated on the Consulate’s website www.nigeriahouse.com,” stressing that the Consulate regrets any inconvenience caused by this development.
