NEDU MARK, Yenagoa
Leadership of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly has vowed to suspend any lawmaker who fails to deliver his ward or constituency to Governor Seriake Dickson come December 5, when the governorship election will hold.
Speaker of the Assembly, Hon Friday Konbowei Benson, stated this, Tuesday, in Yenagoa, the state capita,l during his remarks at the official declaration of Governor Dickson for second term at the Samson Siasia Sports Complex.
Benson said the Assembly had taken a resolution to sanction or suspend any state legislature who falls short of delivering his ward or constituency to Dickson in the forthcoming election in the state.
He insisted that politicians supporting Dickson’s second term ambition should strive to deliver their wards and mobilize voters for the governor in their respective communities.
Benson lauded the Dickson-led administration for empowering youths and embarking on developmental projects, noting that the governor had delivered over 50 projects in his constituency.
The speaker, who urged Bayelsans to vote Governor Seriake Dickson for re election, stated that the fight for the governor’s re election is not for Dickson alone, but for every Ijaw son and daughter.
PDP, the speaker said, would confront the opposition party come December 5 at the poll both at the ward and state level.
He lamented that PDP defectors to the All Progressives Congress (APC) did so because the former President Goodluck Jonathan failed at the presidential elections.
