The Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia, on Monday, June 12, 2023, hosted nationals of the Federation, friends and associates to a Reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Federation.
Russia Day is the national holiday of the Russian Federation. It has been celebrated annually on 12 June since 1992.
Well attended by dignitaries from all walks of life in New York and beyond, the reception, which held at the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the United Nations in New York, was another occasion for networking and celebration of the Federation.
The Russia Day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic (RSFSR) on 12 June 1990. The passage of this Declaration by the First Congress of People’s Deputies marked the beginning of constitutional reform in the Russian Soviet state.
Guests at the Reception, among other exciting items on the agenda, had plenty to eat and drink.
