Peter Obi attends burials of Annie Okonkwo; Mao Ohuabunwa’s wife

Mr. Obi was at the funeral church service which was presided over by the Primate of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, His Grace Henry Ndukuba, and the Presiding Archbishop of Abia State, His Grace Isaac Nwaobia.
The former Governor of Anambra State in a tweet, prayed that God who called Lady Nimi Ohuabunwa home would grant her eternal rest in His kingdom, grant the family the fortitude to bear her sad irreplaceable loss and continue to bless the them always.
Mr. Obi was also earlier at the burial of the late distinguished Senator Annie Okonkwo, in Ojoto, Anambra State, having equally participated in the Vigil Mass held in honour of the political chief who passed on in the United States of America (USA) recently.
Also at the Okonkwo burial were Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governors Charles Soludo of Anambra and Alex Otti of Abia States as well as other senators, political leaders, captains of industry and other distinguished Nigerians.
Mr. Obi, in a tweet afterwards, paid tribute to the departed “great patriot and distinguished legislator” thus:
“Sen. Annie Okonkwo lived a simple life of humility, love, and peace. He was a bridge builder who desired peace, peaceful coexistence, and progress in society. He contributed immensely to building the society by helping many people to success, especially the less privileged.
“He was deeply patriotic, both as a businessman, and a political leader. Senator Okonkwo’s highly entrepreneurial spirit and political sagacity will be greatly missed in the country today, especially as we embark on the mission of moving the economy from consumption to production.”
The former Governor then prayed God Almighty, who it pleased to call him home at this time, to “grant him eternal rest, and grant his family, and all of us, the fortitude to bear his irreplaceable loss.”
