Labour Party (LP) presidential flagbearer in the 2023 general election in Nigeria, Mr. Peter Obi, will be in New Jersey, United States of America (USA) on Sunday, April 14, 2024 for an appreciation Town Hall event that is open to all.
The event, which is being put together by Naija We Can, a non-profit, non-partisan U.S. political organization made up of Nigerian professionals, is, according to the organizers, meant to give Mr. Obi an opportunity to thank the Nigerian Diaspora for their massive support for his presidential campaign.
Mr. Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, will also use the opportunity to address the State of the Nigerian Nation and throw more light on his beliefs in the possibility of a soon to come New Nigeria.
Naija We Can, which “seeks to empower Nigerians in the diaspora to impact change” and whose mission “is to advocate for good governance in Nigeria using the same ‘can do’ spirit that has driven our success as one of the most successful immigrant groups in the United States,” had unequivocally endorsed Mr. Obi in the 2023 general elections.
The “Conversation” which will take place in West Orange, New Jersey, between Mr. Obi and those who will attend the meeting is expected to be riveting, given the popular politician’s growing popularity among Nigerians both within the country and in the Diaspora.
