Red Card Campaign at Africa Day event in New York, USA

One of the major items on the agenda of the recent Africa Day event, organized by the African Renaissance and Diaspora Network (ARDN) in partnership UN Agencies was the Red Card Campaign.
The event, which was held in the United Nations (UN) building, featured presentations by dignitaries drawn from around the world.
The presentations, majorly, explored the intersection between women’s rights and agricultural development, especially in Africa, “within the framework of the Campaign to give a Red Card to All Forms of Discrimination and Violence Against Women and Girls.”
The Djibril Diallo-led ARDN got all the dignitaries, which included the celebrated pan-Africanist, political scientist and academic, 87 year-old Dr. Leonard Jeffries Jr. and his equally renowned wife, Art Historian and Curator, Prof. Rosalind Jeffries, to flash their Red Cards against all forms of discrimination and violence against women and girls.
Pictures here, by JOHN OKO NYAKU, show some of the dignitaries that attended the program and flashed their Red Cards.
