Dialogue on Africa’s looted heritage resources holds in New York, today, Wednesday, April 16

African Diaspora Council of Switzerland and African Foundation for Migration & Development and Partners are inviting people to “Africa in the Museum,” a side event to the 4th session of the United Nations (UN) Permanent Forum on People of African Descent (PFPAD).

The theme of the event, holding today, Wednesday, April 16, 2025, according to the organizers, is “Reparatory Justice for Africa Through Restitution,” and is expected to be a dialogue on looted African Heritage Resources.

Venue of the program is Blue Gallery, The Blue Building, 222 East 46th Street, New York, NY 10017 and time is 14:00 PM – 16:00 PM (EST).

The Keynote Address will be by Angela Naa Afoley Odai, CIDO-African Union Commission, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia while a representative of the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the UN in New York will give the Opening Remarks.

The Panelists include the Consul General of Nigeria in New York, Ambassador Abubakar Jidda; a representative of Open Society Foundation; Ebrima Sall, Director, TrustAfrica, Dakar, Senegal and Kim Poole of the Teaching Artist Institute, USA.

Host of the event is Dozie Celeste Ugochukwu of the African Diaspora Council of Switzerland, the Moderator is Karen Attiah, while the Rapporteur is Myron O. Sotunde-Adesina
