By Ankeli Emmanuel, Sokoto

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has appointed  Mainasara Umar as its Sokoto State Grassroots Networks Coordinator while Hon. Abbah Abubakar and Muhammad Bimasa will serve as the State Secretary

Making this known, the National Coordinator of ADC Grassroots Network, Engr. Mohammed Shuiabu, in a letter of appointment made available to newsmen in Sokoto on Sunday, said the coalition political party is not aligned to any particular candidate but is out to ensure a nation led by leaders that are committed to an egalitarian society for all.

Giving justification for the appointment of Umar as Sokoto state Coordinator of the ADC Grassroots Network, Engr Shuaibu said it was based on his track record, experience, and commitment to policies aimed at building a Nigeria that works for all.

“This appointment takes immediate effect. It is aimed at establishing a platform that will inform and educate the public on the true objectives of the coalition,” he stressed.

Continuing on the principles upon which the ADC Network promises to operate, Engr. Shuaibu said: “We are not aligned with any particular candidate. Our focus is on the ADC’s vision to build a nation led by transparent and credible leaders who are committed to a better future,”

The appointment letter therefore directed the leaders in Sokoto to jointly constitute the local government and ward leadership structures.

The coordinator congratulated the appointees and urged them to collaborate with all stakeholders to work towards a better Nigeria.

In his acceptance remarks, Umar appealed to members of the public to support the coalition, assuring that they are committed to meaningful transformation in the country.

Umar pledged to work diligently to build a team that will not only win the 2027 election but that will also uphold the ideology of the ADC for the benefit of the state and the country at large.

“Our goal is not just about forming a coalition, but about doing the right thing for our country,” he said.

“In the ADC, our mission is inclusive leadership – leadership that corrects past mistakes and addresses the current economic hardships, hunger, and security challenges facing the nation,” Umar affirmed.
