Nigeria’s Consul General to the North West and South West regions of Cameroon, Ambassador Taofik Obasanjo Coker, has passed on.
He was said to have died after a brief illness on Saturday, August 16, 2025, a little over one year after being deployed to the Mission.
The Diplomat, who was stationed in Buea, Cameroon, is well respected among his colleagues, and many who knew him and who have heard of his passage are in shock, wondering why death should strike the gentleman officer at the prime of his career.
The Consulate General of Nigeria in Buea was established in 1961 and is reputed as one of the oldest Nigerian diplomatic missions in Cameroon. Nigeria also has a High Commission in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroon.
Information about Ambassador Coker’s demise is, however, still sketchy.
