Akwa United FC have been airlifted to Lagos by club sponsors, Ibom Air, as they continue their journey to Ekiti for their first away match of the 2025/2026 Nigeria National League season.

The team departed on Friday with confidence and motivation, as they prepare to face Ekiti United FC on Sunday, 30 November, at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado-Ekiti. Kickoff is scheduled for 3pm.

The Promise Keepers are in fine form after back-to-back home wins. They opened the season with a 2-0 victory over Solution FC and followed it with a 1-0 win against Abakaliki FC. With six points from two matches, Paul Offor’s side are aiming to continue their perfect start and secure points on the road.

Ekiti United have taken three points from their first two matches, defeating Stormers 1-0 before losing 2-1 to Rovers FC. Sunday’s fixture will be the first-ever meeting between both clubs.

The flight to Lagos is part of the club’s sponsorship agreement with Ibom Air, signed in October to support Akwa United’s push for promotion back to the top division.

Meanwhile, organisers have confirmed that the match will be streamed live on the NNL media channels, while Akwa United will also provide live updates across their official social media pages.

The Promise Keepers travel with one clear mission—to return to Uyo with another positive result.
