Samuel Chukwueze marked his return from international duty in fine fashion as he came off the bench to score in Fulham’s 2–1 comeback win over Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Super Eagles winger was introduced in the 59th minute with Fulham trailing, and made an instant impact, scoring the equalising goal in the 72nd minute to bring his side back into the game. His effort paved the way for Harry Wilson, who later struck the winning goal in stoppage time to seal all three points for Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Chukwueze’s goal was his first appearance since returning from the recently concluded AFCON, and it underlined his growing influence at the club. The Nigerian winger has now recorded three goals and four assists in 10 Premier League matches this season.
Two of Fulham’s three Nigerian players from AFCON were involved in the match. Alex Iwobi played the full 90 minutes, while defender Calvin Bassey remained an unused substitute.
Fulham’s comeback victory further boosts their league campaign, with Chukwueze’s timely return adding extra quality to their attack.
