Former Anambra State Governor and African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Mr. Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians, especially young people, to show love through responsible actions that will help the country grow.
In a Valentine’s Day message released on February 14, 2026, Obi said love is not just a feeling but also “sacrifice, discipline, and commitment to what is right — honesty, compassion, respect, and devotion to the common good.”
He urged Nigerians to renew their love for the country by supporting fair elections and rejecting corruption, greed, division, and mediocrity.
“Loving Nigeria means promoting fair elections, rejecting vices like corruption, greed, division, and mediocrity, and supporting only those with capacity, commitment, and character,” he said.
Obi added that true patriotism involves pointing out problems and offering solutions while promoting justice, transparency, and investment in education and healthcare.
He noted that unity and integrity can help the nation progress, saying, “Where corruption destroys opportunity, integrity restores it; where division breeds conflict, unity fosters progress.”
Obi concluded by encouraging Nigerians to strengthen families, communities, and the nation through love in action, saying, “A new Nigeria is possible when love becomes action.”
