A lawmaker at the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Cosby Eribo weekend, said Governor Adams Oshiomhole has not anointed anybody as flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2016 gubernatorial election.
Hon. Crosby Eribo who is the member representing Egor Constituency at the state House of Assembly, was speaking on the occasion of his birthday celebration in Benin City added that ‘the APC is a people-oriented party as such one person can’t decide who will govern them.’
He said Oshiomhole never anointed a particular candidate for the party as speculated in some parts of the media adding that ‘nobody is more important than the Egor people he represents.’
“We have come to the time who and what will matter, APC has grown to eradicate godfatherism.
“I am categorically saying that no friend, no foe will decide who lead us, let the people lead. Nobody will come to my doorstep to tell me this is who he wants as governor. I have not heard from comrade governor and if he tells me, I have the right to challenge him.
“The governor himself has never told me and I think he will never tell me who will be next governor. He has never told anybody. Whoever is saying that is doing so on his own accord.
“People are saying the Governor called me. Who are you? Are you more important than the Egor people I represent” he said.
