Anambra senatorial re-run poll: APC disqualifies Ekwunife

Former Senator representing the Anambra Central senatorial district at the senate, Uche Ekwunife, has been disqualified from joining the senatorial race in the re-run election to be conducted on a date yet to be scheduled by the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC].
The screening committee reached their decision on Wednesday morning.
The visibly angry Ekwunife reportedly threatened to take the APC to court over the decision to bar her from the primary.
However, chieftains of the party were said to have intervened to persuade her into accepting the decision of the screening committee, just as she was allegedly promised an appointment in the Buhari administration in return for her cooperation.
