Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has apologised to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) after his recent attacks on the federation as well as his perceived critics who expressed worry over the performance of the ex-international as coach of the national team.

The NFF president Amaju Pinnick confirmed, Tuesday, that the embattled coach sent in the apology on Monday.

“Yes, he did,” Pinnick responded to a text message sent to him by our correspondent.

The Super Eagles coach has received a lot of criticism especially from his former team mates at the Super Eagles, since Nigeria crashed out at the knockout stage of CHAN 2016.

Oliseh, it would be recalled called his critics ‘insane’, last Sunday,  insisting ‘has come out fighting and returning the body jabs and haymakers.’

Oliseh questioned the rationale behind the call from some quarters for his sack, saying coaching a team and losing just two in 14 games is by no standard a disaster and also played down on the importance of the CHAN.

” I am addressing this insanity that has befalling some of our critics, and I call it insanity because you must be insane to start seeking a plebiscite on the future of the national team’s coach of Nigeria because we lost CHAN.”

” With all due respect, CHAN is probably the least important tournament that is held by CAF and it is a tournament that weighs more on the strength of the leagues against one another; you can see how far Congo have gone and how TP Mazembe did in the African Champions League [sic].

” What then should be done to the Coaches of Ghana, South Africa and Egypt who did not even qualify to this tournament.”
