Bayelsa state government on Wednesday declared a total sum of N3.2 billion as money available to the state as at the end of the month of June,2017
Disclosing this in Yenagoa, the state capital during the monthly media transparency briefing in Government House, Acting Governor, Retired Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah explained that, the gross inflow from the federation account for June stood at 10.1 billion.
He said the components of the gross inflow comprises, derivation N4.7 billion, statutory allocation of N1.7 billion, budget support N1 billion, exchange differential N1 billion, stabilization fund N93.5 million, Value Added Tax N720.1 million and refund from other states was N57.5 million.
The Acting Governor also announced N1.5 billion as total amount deducted from the federation account, which includes, repayment of bond loan of N421.5 million, restructured commercial bank loans to state N741million, Excess Crude account loan N126.6million , foreign loans to the state N28.7 million and Federal Government salary bailout to the state N16.5 million, leaving a balance of N8.6 billion.
According to Rear Admiral John Jonah, internally generated revenue for the month of May, came up to N979.4 million, while bond from other sources amounted to N1 billion, totalling N10.54 billion as funds available for spending.
The Acting Governor equally announced N6.5 billion as total outflow, out of which, N2.3 billion was spent for bank loan repayment, other bank charges N200 million, civil servants’ salary gulped N3.6 billion, while that of political appointees stood at N292.7 million, among other items.
He said recurrent payments stood at N2.9 billion, while capital expenditure was N4.7 billion, and the balance brought forward to July, 2017 came up to 3.2 billion.
