25 opposition political parties have declared that they will support the candidate of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the bye-election slated for August 11th, 2018.

The parties disclosed this at a press conference in Bauchi saying that their support will ensure that the APC candidate wins the election against his opponents from the other parties.
Addressing the press conference, the state chairman of APA, Comrade Abdullahi B. Muhammad said that they decided to support the candidate of the ruling APC because they are satisfied with his performance and credentials as a serving federal lawmaker from the state.
He added that their support was also based on their support for the APC led administration in Bauchi State to continue with its vision of bringing meaningful development in all parts of the state.
“If you look at how the APC allowed the will of the people to prevail during its primaries, it deserves our support to ensure its victory during the elections.
“We took this decision on our own without prompting from anybody and we have not taken the decision to intimidate or sabotage anybody or party. We just exercised our guaranteed freedom to make our choice like in any democracy,”he added.
Lawal Yahaya Gumau, the member representing Toro federal constituency in the House of Representatives emerged as the APC Bauchi South Senatorial district bye-election candidate after the party’s primary.
