President, United Nations General Assembly, Muhammad-Bande, Deputy Perm. Rep. to UN, Amb. Itegboje, Consul General, Okoyen, others celebrate Nigeria @ 59 in New York
The parade to celebrate the 59th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria in New York, United States of America, US on Saturday, October 5, 2019 had in attendance, the President of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA, Ambassador (Professor) Tijani Mohammad-Bande.
The Nigerian-born diplomat and academic, turned up alongside the Deputy Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Ambassador Samson S. Itegboje, the Consul General, Hon. Ben Okoyen, and other eminent Nigerians to celebrate in Nigerian colors, the most populous black nation in the world.
Ambassador Mohammad-Bande is also Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, UN.
As part of the parade, the National Association of Nigerians in the United States of America, NANUSA, also set up a stand to enroll Nigerians for the proposed Nigerian Federal Credit Union, a community bank targeted at serving Nigerian in the United States of America.
The response of Nigerians to the clarion call to support the effort to license the bank was spontaneous and overwhelming for the NANUSA team.
