Abia Professionals lambast Ikpeazu govt for withdrawal of accreditation of Polytechnic, Medical School

The Abia League of Professionals Initiative (ALPI) has condemned in strong terms the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration in Abia State for allowing the state to be seriously embarrassed with the “sad news of the withdrawal of the accreditation of the Abia Polytechnic, Aba and the Medical School of the Abia State University, Uturu by Federal Education regulatory authorities.
A statement by Sonny Iroche, the Director-General, ALPI, said that the sorry situation “is a strong indictment on the Abia State government and the officials of government in charge of running the Education sector of the State.”
The group lamented further that it is “a big embarrassment that Abia State, hitherto a bastion of quality education in the past, has degenerated to this level of anomie.”
They, therefore, called on the Ikpeazu government to explain to the Abia people “what concrete steps that are being taken to bring all those involved to account for this sad development in the education sector.”
They also charged the government to “without delay, employ the services of one of the five top Audit Companies in the country, to carry out a forensic audit of both the Polytechnic in Aba and the Abia State University.”
