In a statement signed by his Spokesperson Parry Saroh Benson in Port Harcourt on Thursday Abe said, the news of Captain Elechi Amadi’s death was very shocking and most painful saying that it came at a time when the younger generation had need to tap from his wealth of experience.
He said the good works of the literary icon would be mostly remembered especially in the world of literature where he conquered and left behind as a colossus as well as his penchant love for the unity of the various ethnic nationalities in Rivers State.
Abe added that the late Captain Elechi Amadi’s peaceful disposition and his various achievements in other spheres of life would always remain indelible in the hearts of family and friends forever.
He prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
