Nigerian football coach Samson Siasia has revealed how he is preparing for his return to football when his FIFA ban expires in 2024.
The Federation of International Football Associations – FIFA banned Samson Siasia for five years over match-fixing related accusations in 2019.
The 5-year ban was after a review on appeal by the Nigerian coach to a lifetime ban issued by FIFA without any hearing on the case.
That ban will expire in 2024 to allow Samson Siasia return to football.
“Irrespective of what happened, I have learned my lessons, but FIFA, who initially gave me a life ban in football, could not prove anything wrong with what they claimed I did,” Samson Siasia is quoted as saying by BSN.
“But they had to reduce it to a five-year ban, and it will expire next year. I thank God for that.
“It has been terrible to be away from football for five years, but I am preparing myself to come back to football, so I have to prepare myself so I can start ‘running’ once I resume by next year,” the Olympic games silver winning coach said.
