The national under-20 male team, the Flying Eagles, Saturday in Bujumbura, Burundi, pipped their counterparts, the Young Swallows of Burundi 1-0 in a 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier.
In the second qualifying round first leg match, Chukwudi Agor scored 17 minutes from time to win.
According to reports, the Flying Eagles who are made up largely of players of the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup-winning Golden Eaglets, dominated in all aspects of the match.
The match was played at the Stade Prince Louis Rwagasore.
The Flying Eagles will host the return leg match on Saturday June 11 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, Cross River State.
