First Lady and wife of the President Muhammadu Buhari, Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, has lamented the current economic problems facing the country.

Mrs Buhari expressed her feelings at the Multi-purpose Indoor Sports Complex in Bauchi while distributing relief materials to less privileged people in the state.

She said that insurgency in some states of the North East has destabilized a lot of people and crippled their farming as well as other activities which, coupled with the recession in the economy, has resulted in hike in prices of commodities, including food items.

She said that she was in the state to distribute relief materials to the less privileged and vulnerable groups to cushion the effect of the current economic realities on them.

The wife of the president then appealed to the beneficiaries to make good use of the items distributed.

In her address, wife of the Bauchi state Governor, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed commended the President’s wife for the distribution of the relief materials, particularly during the Ramadan period noting that the humanitarian gesture was timely and will attract multiple rewards from God.

She then called on those with the responsibility of distributing the items to be fair and just and ensure that the items reach the less privileged in the state.

The relief items include 3,000 10kg bags of rice, 1,000 cartoons of spaghetti, 1,000 cartons of macaroni, 1,000 cartons of Couscous and 1,850 cartoons of fortified Garri which will be distributed to the less privileged in all the 20 local government areas of the state.
