The Nigerian Police Force has arrested another Boko Haram terrorist leader, Muhhamed Usman. Usman is one of those recently declared wanted by Nigerian Army.

Our correspondent gathered that the arrest of the suspect was as a result of the investigative and surveillance activities of officers and men under the supervision of AIG Tunde Ogunsakin who is charge of zone 12, comprising Bauchi, Borno and Yobe States.

Speaking to newsmen in Maiduguri, AIG Ogunsakin said the suspect was arrested by police detectives, attached to the Borno State Police Command who were on intensive cordon and search operation for members and leaders of the terror group in all parts of Maiduguri .

According to him, the suspect was arrested Sunday, November 15 and has since been handed over to the headquarters of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army for further investigation while efforts are being intensified to track down other suspects still at large.

“It is pertinent to emphasize here that the breakthrough in the arrest of the suspect was as a result of the support of well – meaning members of the public who assisted Police with useful information that led to the arrest,” he stated.

While commending the general public for their cooperation, AIG Ogunshakin urged members of the public not to relent in providing useful information to security agencies for the protection of lives and property.
