The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has said that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is dying and would soon be history in Nigeria.
Prince Secondus also accused the APC of swimming in the valley of corruption and of having dragged the nation’s economy down.
The National Chairman who spoke at Ribadu Square, Yola, the Adamawa state capital on Saturday at the PDP state rally said that in days and weeks ahead a tsunami will hit the APC that would begin their journey to extinction.
In a statement by the National Chairman’s media Adviser, Ike Abonyi, Prince Secondus said that the APC led Federal Government has not been able to disburse funds to states and projects because of confusion and corruption that have bedeviled the administration.
He said that a rebranded and repositioned PDP is clearly the party of choice determined and ready to rescue Nigeria from the APC’s mess.
“PDP is determined to end the circle of continued bloodletting in the country,” he said, pointing out that a sign of the imminent demise of the APC was that it was now threatening everybody.
“A sign of a drowning party, the APC administration is threatening everybody. The lives of reformed APC leaders are now in danger but we are not afraid, they can’t kill everybody,” he said.
Prince Secondus assured the people of Adamawa state that under his watch the party will provide a level playing ground for all aspirants of the party.
He announced that a free and fair primary is going on in Osun state today (Saturday) to pick a flag bearer for the party in September’s governorship election in the state.
The National Chairman who led all members of the party’s National Working Committee, NWC to the rally assured youths and women in the country that a PDP administration would have programs for them because “we know you are not lazy.”
The large crowd of jubilant party supporters drawn from states of the North East region had in attendance former Vice President and a Presidential aspirant Atiku Abubakar with his supporters. Deputy Governors of Taraba and Gombe states as well as former Governors and Ministers also graced the occasion.
