Atiku in Akwa Ibom, promises 70% attention to youth, women issues; Buhari wants to head all arms of government – Secondus

Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday promised to give 70 per cent preferential treatment to youths and women related issues, if elected in the Feb. 16 general elections.

Atiku said this during his presidential campaign rally held in Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

He said “The positions of youths and women in my government will be 70 per cent. My government will be dedicated to the youths and women”.

He also promised to restore the nation’s economy if elected into office.

”One of our most important policies is to restore the economy because we have people like Gov. Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom who is an economic expert,” he said.

He noted that PDP government had achieved a lot in Akwa Ibom.

”I know all the governors and I know what they have achieved, no governor has achieved better than Gov. Emmanuel,” Atiku said.

He urged the people of Akwa Ibom to vote for all PDP candidates in the country.

”One of our cardinal policy is also to restructure the country. If we restructure the country, Akwa Ibom is going to be more prosperous than today.

“If the country is restructured, there will be more jobs, more security, and more education in the country.

Atiku equally promised to bring a refinery to Akwa Ibom.

He said that the infrastructure and industries currently enjoyed in the state were from PDP government.

”You will progress if you continue to be PDP, therefore I commend the people of Akwa Ibom for remaining steadfast, so continue to remain in PDP,’’ he said.

The Vice Presidential candidate, Peter Obi, whose wife, Margaret is from the state told the people that time has come to put Nigeria in the hand of the person who can create jobs and remove hunger from the land.

The National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus said that President Buhari’s desire is to head all the three arms of government and turn a full blown dictator.

Prince Secondus told the jubilant party supporters that President Buhari’s ambition is to be Chief Justice, Senate President and the Speaker of the House yet he claims to a converted democrat.

The National Chairman who led the PDP Presidential Campaign Council and the party’s Presidential candidate  and his team to Akwa Ibom state said that the country is distressed and going through most difficult times under Buhari’s watch.

Prince Secondus said that all actions of President Buhari so far have become a huge threat to democracy and national cohesion.

“The President wants to be everything, so that he can jail whoever he wants. If he fails to reverse the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, something will happen, God will reverse it.

The National Chairman said that the situation in the country at the moment is precarious and the World is aware that All Progressives Congress, APC and President Buhari want to destroy the country stressing that “we can no longer keep quiet.”

He said that Akwa Ibom is PDP 100% warning that anybody trying to play God will be brought down by God. ‘You rig election in Akwa Ibom, you rig your head.’

The Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar also told the colorful mammoth crowd that the in-coming PDP Presidency will restore  and make this economy work again.

The Akwa Ibom state, Governor Udom, assured the PDP and the Presidential candidate that come February 16, the state will give him overwhelming votes.

The Governor said that PDP is a religion in the state and will demonstrate it by February 16 and March, 2. 2019.

The Presidential campaign train that was halted for 72 hours from Friday in protest of the suspension of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, by President Buhari moves to Bayelsa state on Tuesday.

Secondus later presented the party flag to Gov. Emmanuel as the governorship candidate to fly the party’s flag and win the March 2 election.
