
Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital, was agog, Wednesday, as Governor Seriake Dickson, took his campaign to Ovom, Swali, Onopa, Amarata and various communities in the metropolis.
Indigenes and other residents of the communities in the Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state, trooped out to receive the governor and his supporters.
The development caused gridlock in the metropolis as many residents came out in their numbers to catch a glimpse of the governor, fondly referred to as ‘Contriman Governor’ by his supporters and loyalists.
Dickson and members of his Restoration Campaign Organisation were received at the Yenagoa Town Hall by the Paramount Ruler of Yenagoa, His Royal Highness Clarkson Kikile and members of his council.
The governor assured the people of Yenagoa that he would do more to enhance development in the area when reelected.
Making the promise in continuation of his ‘Community-to-community meet the people tour’, Dickson expressed his appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and his entourage and support to his administration.
He stressed his affinity with people of Yenagoa, saying that it was a special area to him and pledged greater commitment to them and their aspirations.
The governor told the people that now was the time for all Ijaws to identify with the Peoples Democratic Party.
