Burnaboy reveals: I came into music industry from prison

Popular Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, (Burna Boy) has revealed that he joined the music industry after he left Prison at Chelmsford HMP, a United Kingdom (UK) jail for young offenders.
Burna Boy dropped this revelation via his verified Twitter handle @burnaboy in a tweet on Wednesday which he later deleted.
Burnaboy for the first time spoke publicly about his time in prison though he made no mention of the crime that led to his incarceration.
The grammy award-winning artiste tweeted, “Nigeria real doesn’t know me. I don’t care to be the biggest Nigerian artist, I’m just happy I can do what I love and take care of my people from it. If you knew just half the sh*t I used to do for money, risking my freedom daily, you would be way happier for me.
“I came into the music industry straight from CHELMSFORD HMP. I had NO idea I would even live this long. So when people talk about me now it’s all just funny. Of course I would perform with my injured leg or even no legs or no arms.”
HMP Chelmsford is a category B men’s prison and young offenders’ institution in Chelmsford, Essex, UK .
No reason has been given for the deleting of the tweet and it has not been independently confirmed if, indeed, Burna Boy was once at HMP Chelmsford but his fan base which continues to increase by the day has not been affected by the development.
Some months ago, Burna Boy received scathing criticism for allegedly making advances at a married woman in a club and disrespecting her husband in the process.
