CAF Confederation Cup: Rivers United FC draw Young Africans in Quater-final

Nigeria Premier Football League champions Rivers United FC have been drawn against Tanzanian side Young Africans SC in the quarterfinals of the 2022-23 CAF Confederation Cup.

The draw was held in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday April 5, 2023. The Pride of Rivers will host the Tanzanian side in the first leg on April 23rd before the second leg takes place in Tanzania a week later.

Rivers United reached the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup with a game to spare in their group before losing their final group game to ASEC Mimosas 1-0 to finish second behind the Ivorian club.

The club has received a $350,000 largesse for reaching this stage of the Total Energies powered competition.

The Nigerian club will face Young Africans for a third and fourth time having faced them twice in 2021. The Nigerian side won both games with a 1-0 score line.

USM Alger (Algeria) vs ASFAR (Morocco)

Pyramids FC (Egypt) vs Marumo Gallants (South Africa)
