Journalist, Chiemeka Iwuoha passes on at 70

Cerebral thinker, writer and journalist of note, Mr. Chiemeka Ernest Iwuoha, has passed on at the age of 70.

The Iwuoha family of Alaoma in Umuenyi Autonomous community, Imo State, Nigeria, announced that their brother, uncle, cousin, in-law and father, Chiemeka Iwuoha, died on May 23, 2021 after a brief illness.

In a notice on their behalf by Mr. Charles Iwuoha, the family of the acclaimed columnist and fearless writer also stated that he will be interred on Friday, August 13, 2021.

The interment will take place at the family’s compound in Alaoma, Umuenyi, Isiala Mbano after a Funeral Service at St. Stephens Anglican Church, Umuenyi, Isiala-Mbano, Imo State, Nigeria.

Chiemeka, who studied in Israel and held different positions in Champion Newspapers, Lagos where he maintained a column, SYMPOSIUM, is survived by Mr. Michiel Wemekamp (son), Rev. Noble & Mrs. Victoria Obilo, Prof. Godwin & Bar. Mrs. Dorothy Unanka, Mr. Charles & Mrs. Ngozi Iwuoha, Mr. Linus & Mrs. Joy Ugorji, Mr. Chibuike & Mrs. Amarachi Iwuoha, Pastor Maxwell C. & Mrs. Patricia Iwuoha and Miss. Chinasa Olive Iwuoha as well as a host of other relatives.
