COVID-19: Amaudo, Umuobiara sons & daughters contribute N1.8 million as palliative for kith & kin

Sons and daughters of Amaudo and Umuobiara community in Akabo, Ikeduru local government area of Imo state have contributed the sum of N1.8 million to alleviate the sufferings of members of their community at home.
The amount is being disbursed cash to 160 households based at home as part of the palliative measures to alleviate the hardship caused by the COVID-19 lockdown.
Already, part of the money has been paid cash into 128 accounts while arrangements are being made to reach those who do not have accounts with their share of the funds.
The money is donated by sons and daughters of the community resident in Lagos, Port Harcourt and in the Diaspora like USA, UK, Australia, Holland, Austria and Canada.
The organizers of the initiative, led by Pastor Jossy Ndu of Winners Chapel, Epe, Lagos decided to give out cash to beneficiaries because of logistics problems that may arise from purchasing food items and for proper accounting.
Each household will receive a minimum of ten thousand naira (N10,000).
