Edo North to play host to Oba of Benin

The people of the six local government areas that make up Edo north senatorial district are making frantic preparations to host the Oba of Benin, Omo Noba Nedo Ukuakpolokpolo Oba Ewuare 11.

The Oba will this weekend undertake a royal appreciation visit to the communities that make up the entire Afemai.

A statement to this effect was issued on Wednesday from the Palace of the Chief Host for the visit and Otaru of Auchi,  by Alhaji Usman Abudah, the Artistic Director and Head of the Publicity committee for the visit.

The statement said that the Oba’s visit which is a continuation of his visits to communities around the state is to appreciate the people for their solidarity and support during the burial of Oba Erediauwa and his own coronation.

The statement also added that traditional dance troupes and masquerades from communities in Etsako west , east and central, Owan east and west and Akoko-Edo, the six local government areas that make up the senatorial district are expected to grace the August occasion.
