In order to reduced the effect of the postponed Presidential  and National Assembly elections  and also to encourage voters to go back to where they registered to cast their votes, the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) Borno state chapter has declared 50 percent discounts  on transport fares for all those travelling to cast their votes.

The Borno state chairman of the NURTW, Alhaji Bello Maduganari in an interview with newsmen in Maiduguri said the declaration is in line with the directive of their National headquarters that “we should give 50 percent discount on transport fares to all those going home to cast their votes.
“All you need to benefit from the 50 percent discount is to show your permanent voters card (PVC)) and our driver will give the discount,” Maduganari said
He said “this is part of our contributions to a successful, free and fair elections and anybody who has no money and wants to travel to vote should come to our office to complain, we will ensure that he is transported free of charge”
He called on the general public to use the opportunity to travel to their home towns to cast their votes to strengthen the nation’s democracy.
