The traditional ruler of Umuariam Autonomous community in Obowo Local Government Area of Imo State, His Royal Highness, Eze Augustine Adiele Nwigwe, has sent a “thank you” message to the sons and daughters of Umuokoro Umuariam for the palliatives they sent to their kith and kin in the community.
The sons and daughters of Umuokoro Umuariam living in different cities of Nigeria and the diaspora had contributed about N1.5 million with which food items were bought and shared to members of the community.
In his message, Eze Nwigwe, the Eze Ohachoro 111, noted that 297 families from all the wards in the community and five orphans benefited from the items distributed (bags of rice, beans and cartons of indomie).
He said he was physically present at the occasion to ensure that every family was satisfied and prayed that God will replenish the pockets of all those who contributed to put smiles on the faces of the people in the community.
He also prayed that the unity of purpose that resulted in the success of the initiative would continue for the progress of the community.
The initiative was championed by a group, Umuokoro Progressives, co-ordinated by Gregory Nwahiri.
