Family announces funeral arrangements for late Mrs. Comfort Adanwo Okah (Mama Dubai Arab)
The family of Mrs. Comfort Adanwo Okah, popularly known as Mama Dubai Arab, has formally announced her passing and invited friends, relatives, and well-wishers to her funeral programme.
Mrs. Okah, née Ajoku-Igwe, died peacefully on Saturday, 6 June 2026, at the age of 95 after a brief age-related illness.
In a statement, the family described her as a woman of “exemplary courage, compassion, fairness and deep faith.” They said she was strongly committed to education, self-improvement, and service to others throughout her life.
She was also praised for her discipline, hard work, and independent mind, as well as her contributions to community development and public life. According to the family, she supported many people quietly and lived a life of kindness without seeking attention.
Mama Dubai Arab was also known for her strong Christian faith and active involvement in the Anglican Church. She was among those who helped establish The King of Kings Anglican Church, Omopo, Elele Town in Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State. She was also fondly called the family’s “Prayer Warrior.”
The funeral programme has been announced as follows:
•Service of Songs: Tuesday, 21 July 2026, at the Rivers State Ecumenical Centre, Abonnema Wharf Road, Port Harcourt, by 4pm.
•Funeral Service: Saturday, 25 July 2026, at St James Anglican Church, Elele Town (Roundabout), Ikwerre LGA, Rivers State, by 9am. Reception follows at Camp David Residence of Hon. Emma Okah (PhD), near the Nigeria Police Anti-Cultism Unit, Elele-Omuanwa Road, off Port Harcourt Road, Elele Town.
•Thanksgiving Service: Sunday, 26 July 2026, at St James Anglican Church, Elele Town, by 9am.
