First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has said it plans to grow its customer base, particularly in retail banking space, substantially this year by adding over 600,000 new ones to the existing 3.2 million at the start of the year.
Besides, the retail banking revenues and profitability of the lender are also expected to grow strongly despite the challenging economic environment, with planned “smart branch and technology” playing important role in attaining the objective.
Already, it has extended its branch network with the opening of a new branch in Gbagada, which would commence operations from June 13.
The new business office, located in Ifako Gbagada Street, Lagos, is in line with the bank’s expansion plan in efforts to reach and make its services accessible to its customers and members of the public.
The Vice President, Branch Management and Trade Services, FCMB, Oluwakayode Adigun said, the bank is pleased with establishing a presence in the neighbourhood, as part of its retail drive.
“This is not just another branch as each of FCMB’s new branches brings with it, something special in terms of structure, aesthetics and above all, the excellent customer experience, to be provided by an excellent team of service professionals.
“The branch also offers numerous self-service options such as cash depositing and withdrawal ATMs, and self-service terminals for routine requests and transfers .”
Group Chief Executive Officer, Ladi Balogun, said: “With a robust product suite for businesses and individuals and our award winning service culture, we are intent on leveraging these capabilities by investing extensively in channels to reach more customers.
“Today, our customers are embracing alternative channels such as mobile at an impressive rate, while many still need the reassurance of an experienced banker and the infrastructure a branch offers.
“The Gbagada branch gives this reassurance. It will not only serve the immediate community but also serve as a hub for the deployment of alternate channels such as agent location, ATMs POS and mobile banking across a wider radius”.
