Full list of winners as CAF announces 2025 Award recipients

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the winners of the 2025 CAF Awards, celebrating the continent’s finest achievements in football over the past year. The ceremony, held on Wednesday night, highlighted outstanding players, coaches, teams, and leaders who made significant contributions to African football.
Morocco dominated many of the categories, with several of their top performers earning major honours.
Hakimi, Chebbak Win Top Player Awards
Paris Saint-Germain and Morocco star Achraf Hakimi was crowned African Player of the Year, recognising his consistent excellence for club and country. In the women’s category, Ghizlane Chebbak of Morocco was named African Female Player of the Year, edging out strong competition to claim the prestigious title.

•Best Goalkeeper: Yassine Bounou (Morocco)
•Best Female Goalkeeper: Chiamaka Nnadozie (Nigeria)
•Best Young Player: Othmane Maamma (Morocco)
•Best Young Female Player: Doha El Madani (Morocco)
•Coach of the Year: Bubista (Cape Verde)
•Team of the Year: Morocco U-20
•Women’s Team of the Year: Nigeria
•Club of the Year: Pyramids FC (Egypt)
Referees Honoured
Somalia’s Omar Artan won CAF Best Men’s Referee of the Year, while Uganda’s Shamirah Nabadda earned the award for CAF Best Women’s Referee of the Year, recognising their exceptional officiating throughout the year.
CAF Outstanding Award
Three African presidents were honoured for their contributions to sports development and support for football on the continent:
•William Ruto (Kenya)
•Samia Suluhu Hassan (Tanzania)
•Yoweri Kaguta Museveni (Uganda)
Goal of the Year
Tanzania’s Clément Mzize won the CAF Goal of the Year award for his remarkable strike that captivated football fans across Africa.
The 2025 CAF Awards once again showcased Africa’s rich football talent and celebrated individuals and teams who continue to elevate the continent’s game.
